Note: Poetry can move people to places they haven’t felt. It can be surprising, it can be moving, and it can aid in expression. A poem can welcome a feeling that a client finds difficult to access or express. Sometimes poetry can aid us through a specific personal situation whether we are writing it or reading it and interpreting it to our own lives. Using poetry in therapy can evoke meaningful experiences otherwise left un-found.
Book Reviews
“Handwash Your Soul brings you to the place where contemplation and understanding meet. Enjoy the honesty and inspiration as first time author Kelly Wilcoxson offers an affirmation to life’s simplicity, dignity, passion and fear.
The contemporary free verse poems paired with rousing quotes, encourage a creative outlet with its corresponding blank pages. Bringing irony and a sarcasm in You will come back, to meet the courage and enlightenment in Assignment, Handwash your Soul reaches a large spectrum of readers.
You will read about strength in the moments of awareness and experience validation by the raw and gritty manner of truth told, from the delicacy of love, to an underlying rumbling rage at life’s twits and turns.”
